Who is Younha?

In a small live café in Shibuya, Japan, a young girl is performing. There are only two people in the audience. She once dreamed of becoming a star, but now she resolves to live a life not as a star, but as an "expressor," someone who truly reveals her inner self through music. This girl's name is Younha.

Younha made her debut in Japan in 2004 at the age of 16. Her first album was a digital single titled Yubikiri (ゆびきり), an OST for the Japanese drama Tokyo Wankei. After releasing her second single Houki Boshi (ほうき星) the following year, she consistently ranked in the top 10 of the Oricon charts and gained the nickname "The Comet of Oricon," enjoying great popularity in Japan at the time.

In December 2006, Younha released an album titled Audition in Korea, marking the start of her domestic activities. She gained explosive popularity by releasing numerous hit songs such as "비밀번호 486" and "오늘 헤어졌어요" In 2022, Event Horizon, a track from her album END THEORY, reached number one on major Korean music charts 222 days after its release. The song stayed in the Top 100 for over a year, creating a remarkable "reverse charting" phenomenon. In 2024, Younha celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut, and through the release of GROWTH THEORY on her debut anniversary, she expanded her musical universe.

Younha's music, which spans various genres including ballads and rock, continues to be loved as the background music of our lives, even after 20 years since her debut.
